You are very welcome to visit us and use our services in the study hall. At the study hall, in the historic ‘Minderbroederskerk’, you can consult the elaborate archives and collections of RHCL and SHCL (Social Historical Centre of Limburg). You can also look into the collection of books and magazines. A growing number of our archives and collections can be accessed online. Digitised material can be downloaded for free.
Would you like a guided tour through our beautiful building? During the tour we guide you through the building and inform you about the building’s history. We also show you how we preserve the archives and collections. Tours are in Dutch or English.
Guided tours can be reserved on Wednesdays. A guided tour takes place in a timetable of two hours, from 10.00pm to 12,00pm, and with a maximum of 20 people. The price for one guided tour is €80,- (incl. VAT). The invoice will be sent to you afterwards.

Our facility is accessible to wheelchairs. The public areas, such as the coffee corner and study hall, are located on the ground floor. These areas are all at the street level. In our study hall, there is a raised table designed especially for visitors in a wheelchair. There is an elevator leading to the underground auditorium. Unfortunately, this elevator is not suitable for electric wheelchairs.
There are no free parking areas in the immediate vicinity of the Regional Historical Centre of Limburg.
Though disabled persons, who are in possession of a valid parking card for disabled persons, are able to park free of cost in the surroundings of the RHCL-building for the limit of three hours. The nearest parking space for disabled persons, about 120 meters from our location, is found at the corner of the ‘Kleine Looiersstraat’ and the ‘Sint Pieterstraat’.
General and paid parking, close to the RHCL-building, is possible in the ‘Sint Pieterstraat’ with a maximum of two hours parking. It is possible to buy a day-ticket which allows you to park your car under the ‘Kennedy bridge’, in the ‘Hubertuslaan’ or in the ‘Nieuwenhofstraat’, for €6,- a day.
The nearest (underground) car park is to be found at the ‘Onze Lieve Vrouweparking’ at the ‘Maasboulevard’. To get there, follow the white signs that say ‘P Centrum-West’. From there it’s a 5 to 10 minute walk to our facility. Other car parks in the city centre of Maastricht are located under the ‘Vrijthof’ or the Market. From these two locations it’s a fifteen minute walk to our facility at the ‘Sint Pieterstraat 7’.
