        study hall

You are very welcome to visit us and use our services in the study hall. At the study hall, in the historic ‘Minderbroederskerk’, you can consult the elaborate archives and collections of HCL and SHCL (Sociaal Historisch Centrum voor Limburg). You can also look into the collection of books and magazines. A growing number of our archives and collections can be accessed online. Digitised material can be downloaded for free.

        guided tours

Would you like a guided tour through our beautiful building? During the tour we guide you through the building and inform you about the building’s history. We also show you how we preserve the archives and collections. Tours are in Dutch or English. Unfortunately, due to COVID-measures, we cannot do guided tours for the time being.

        meetings

We also offer the possibility to rent one of the rooms in our facility. You can choose from the coffee lounge, the conference room, the modern underground auditory or the historic ‘Sterre der Zee’ chapel. It is also possible to rent equipment. Unfortunately, due to COVID-measures, no external meetings can take place in our buildings fo the time being.

        wheelchair accessibility

Our vicinities are accessible for wheelchairs. The public areas, such as the coffee corner and study hall, are located on the ground floor. These areas are all at the street level. In our study hall, there is a raised table designed especially for visitors who are confined to the use of a wheelchair. There is an elevator leading to the underground auditorium. Unfortunately, this elevator is not suitable for electric wheelchairs.

        parking

There are no free parking areas in the immediate vicinity of Historisch Centrum Limburg.

Though disabled persons, who are in possession of a valid parking card for disabled persons, are able to park free of cost in the surroundings of vicinties for the limit of three hours. The nearest parking space for disabled persons, about 120 meters from our location, is found at the corner of the ‘Kleine Looiersstraat’ and the ‘Sint Pieterstraat’.

General and paid parking close to our quarters is possible in the ‘Sint Pieterstraat’ with a maximum of two hours. It is also possible to buy a day-ticket which allows you to park your car under the ‘Kennedybrug’ for €10,- per day.

The nearest (underground) car park is the ‘Onze Lieve Vrouweparking’ at the ‘Maasboulevard’. To get there, follow the white signs that say ‘P Centrum-West’. From there it’s a 5 to 10 minute walk to the HCL. Other car parks in the city centre of Maastricht are located under the ‘Vrijthof’ or the 'Markt'. From these two locations it’s a fifteen minute walk to the HCL.
